Our Story

Stagedoor Dance Centre has been in continuous operation since 1955.  During our 60 years of business, we have had many dancers go on to pursue careers in the dance industry and gain acceptance to some of the best college dance programs in the country including SMU, Sam Houston State University, Oklahoma City University, and The University of Texas at Austin.
 

We pride ourselves on training dancers at every age and ability level in a positive, nurturing, and structured environment.  SDC strives to prepare our dancers to achieve their goals, whatever they may be, so that they will find success!
 

Whether your child is a preschooler who has a love for music and movement or a teenager who is interested in learning how to dance, we can find a class to suit your needs.

SDC Owner

Sarah Samson Miller

Sarah obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Management from Oklahoma City University. An academic, as well as performance scholarship recipient, she was a member of their nationally recognized program and performed with the acclaimed American Spirit Dance Company. As a student, she was a frequent dance captain and served in roles such as stage manager and assistant stage manager. Sarah was on staff at All That Dance Studio in Moore, Oklahoma for three years where she choreographed several award winning routines for their Junior Company. Her choreography was seen in competitions throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. Sarah has also assisted Los Angeles based choreographers Darryl Retter, Rhonda Miller, and Laurie Johnson during master classes held in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She was featured in the Sept./2003 issue of Dancer Magazine as an upcoming young dancer in their “In The Spotlight” section. Sarah also had the opportunity to study from several tap masters at the St. Louis Annual Tap Festival. Over the past 24 competition seasons, Ms. Sarah’s dancers have consistently received platinum, high gold, and overall rankings both at the regional and national levels. During this time, many of Ms. Sarah’s students have received scholarships from multiple dance organizations and have been accepted in collegiate dance departments. Ms. Sarah coordinates our summer camp programs and developed our summer Ballet Bootcamps and Conditioning and Wellness Camps for our company dancers. Sarah currently works with all ages and levels of our students, both Recreational and Competitive, and has taken courses to obtain her secondary teaching certification in dance.

Saxon Wilson

Instructor

Saxon began dancing at Stagedoor at the age of two.  As a student, she was an active company member and was ranked 1st place at the Stage One Nationals in the Duet/Trio and Group divisions. Saxon was also chosen by Pace University Commercial Dance Chair, Rhonda Miller, as one of 50 students nationwide to study at the Broadway Dance Center Summer Intensive in New York, NY. Saxon currently works with our recreational and competitive level students. Over the past 12 competition seasons her choreography has received multiple awards and her students are consistently recognized.

Natalie Anton
Ballet Instructor

Natalie Anton started dancing at the age of 10 under the direction of Kaye Lewis, and later Svetlana Sanova. She attended summer programs at BYU and the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. Natalie has guest performed with the Midwest Regional Ballet in Joplin, MO, The Oaks Ballet in Lake Dallas, Collin County Ballet Theater and Mejia Ballet. Natalie trained both in the Vaganova technique and Balanchine style. She enjoyed an apprenticeship with Ballet Arlington, then danced at the University of North Texas, where she studied modern and trained in ballet under Arleen Sugano. After UNT, Natalie joined Metropolitan Classical Ballet, directed by Paul Mejia and Alexander Vetrov. There she performed in such ballet as Paganini, Walpurgis Night, La Bayadere, Raymonda, Marketenka, as well as Balanchine ballets including Four Temperaments, Square Dance, Who Cares?, and Firebird, as well as several original works. She danced with Avant Chamber Ballet from its inaugural season and has performed in several world premier ballets by Katie Cooper, Emily Hunter, Janie Richards, Kimi Nikaidoh, and others, as well as works by Balanchine and Paul Mejia. Natalie has been teaching for over a decade. She has taught both jazz and ballet to all ages and skill levels. She taught technique classes and choreographed for Plano Metropolitan Ballet for seven years and has enjoyed guest teaching all over the DFW Metroplex. Natalie enjoyed teaching company class on occasion at Avant Chamber Ballet and currently guest teaches in the area. We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Natalie back for her 8th season at SDC!

Stevee Lynch

Instructor

Stevee Lynch has been teaching dance for over ten years. She began dancing at age 3 and teaching at age 15. As a teenager, Stevee won countless awards while competing in large group, small group, duo/trio, and solo dance categories. In addition to dancing competitively, Stevee was the captain of her high school step eam and performed with her drill team. Stevee has won countless awards with her choreography such as Top Group awards, Diva awards, 1st overalls, and so much more. She is proud to be a former member of the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue Co-Ed Hip Hop Dance team and hopes to continue fulfilling her dance dreams as a teacher and a student. Ms. Stevee is going into her 12th season at SDC!

Ava Townsley
Instructor

Ava Townsley was born and raised in Arlington, Texas and began her dance training at the age of five at Stagedoor Dance Centre in Mansfield, Texas. There, she began competitively dancing from the ages of eight to eighteen, in diverse styles of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, hip-hop, and musical theatre. She taught her choreography at the studio starting in the 2023 season. She graduated from the University of North Texas in the fall of 2025 with a degree in dance.

Ashton Wood
Instructor

Ashton Wood began dancing at age three and entered the competitive dance world at nine. At eleven, she joined Stagedoor Dance Centre, where she continued training in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop. This training contributed to numerous awards in Solo, Duo, and Group divisions. Passionate about teaching, Ms. Ashton works with dancers of various ages in both Recreational and Competitive programs and has been teaching for two seasons. Ms. Ashton’s experience as a performer and competitor informs a positive, disciplined approach that helps students grow technically and creatively.

Assistants

Members of our advanced and intermediate competition groups serve as teacher assistants in most of our classes, providing that “extra help” that is often needed.
 

In keeping abreast with current trends in dance, all faculty and assistants continue to study throughout the year with various dance organizations such as Tremaine Dance Conventions, Tap Into the Network, Hollywood Vibe Convention, Encore Performing Arts, and DanceMakers.
